The Ministry of Culture and AS Diena Express Their Gratitude to the Foundation

March 12, 2014

ABLV Charitable Foundation receives a diploma of gratitude from the Ministry of Culture and AS Diena for its participation in and support of public education.

On 11 March 2014, the presentation ceremony took place for the 2013 Diena Annual Award in Culture, during which for the 13th consecutive year, the best works and artists in various categories as assessed by the jury duly received awards in the categories of visual arts, music, literature, etc. In recognition of its work, the ABLV Charitable Foundation received a diploma of gratitude from the Ministry of Culture and AS Diena for its participation and support in public education and nurturing the understanding of the general public regarding contemporary art trends and values both in Latvia and overseas.

It should be noted that the exhibition of the ABLV Bank’s collection for the forthcoming Contemporary Art Museum “...for an occurrence to become an adventure...” was nominated for the Diena Annual Award in Culture for 2013. The exhibition was nominated in the category of the Most Impressive Event in Visual Arts in 2013 as the promising debut of an important collection thanks to a shrewd curatorial concept and successful education programme solution. The exhibition took place at Rīga Art Space from 20 September 2013 to 27 October 2013 and was curated by Solvita Krese.

We’re delighted and at the same time would once again like to take this opportunity to congratulate the 2013 Diena Annual Award in Culture laureate Gvido Kajons and the organisation “Balta” for the photo exhibition at the Latvian Museum of Photography and the album “Theme 011”, which were supported by ABLV Charitable Foundation and received the award in the category of the Most Impressive Event in Visual Arts in 2013 – an ideal summary of a bygone era, for which there can no longer be any competitors.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who worked to organise the exhibition “...for an occurrence to become an adventure...”, so that it would become an unforgettable event for everyone who attended it.
