The annual grant competition has been announced

October 9, 2014

ABLV Charitable Foundation has announced its annual grant competition for the awarding of co-financing for organising professional contemporary art exhibitions and events from 5 January 2015 to 9 December 2015.

Under the auspices of the grant programme, the funding available for projects in 2015 is EUR 30,489. Up to EUR 10,000 and up to 75% of the total project costs may be awarded to any one project. The deadline for the submission of applications is 27 October 2014 (until 23.59), sending them electronically to the following e-mail address: maksla@ablv.org.

The grant competition regulation, application form and budget form, which must be completed in Latvian, are available on the Foundation’s homepage in the section “How to Receive Financing”.

We welcome grant applications from any organisation or foundation; or local council or municipal institution, or council-established agency, whose operations are not connected to making profits; or from any state institution or state agency that operates on a not-for-profit basis. All these institutions must be registered in Latvia.

As Board Chair Zanda Zilgalve notes: “This year, we are organising the grant competition before the start of the calendar year, in order that curators and project managers can plan their event schedule for 2015 in a timely manner. As in previous years, next year we will also support national professional contemporary art exhibitions and events of public significance, thus nurturing public awareness and understanding of, as well as access to, the contemporary art scene in Latvia.”

ABLV Charitable Foundation was founded in 2006 by ABLV Bank shareholders Ernests Bernis and Oļegs Fiļs, in order to put their core values into practice in real life and support the responsibility of entrepreneurs towards society and the environment. The Foundation functions as ABLV Bank’s main partner in the realm of charitable activity, supporting creative people and outstanding organisations that invest their efforts and knowledge, in order to achieve universally important goals – to create a united, abundant and safe society. In particular, the Foundation focuses its attention on contemporary art, children and adolescents, and the development of education and civic society. In past years, the Foundation has supported more than 240 projects, awarding financing to them in the amount of EUR 1,200,000.
