For the seventh year in a row, in collaboration with ABLV Bank, ABLV Charitable Foundation has organised a Christmas Campaign.
For the seventh year in a row, in collaboration with ABLV Bank, ABLV Charitable Foundation has organised a Christmas Campaign, during which our clients and employees donate funds to the Foundation’s two main social programmes: “Let’s Help Them to Hear!” and “Let’s Help Them to Grow Up!”.
Within the parameters of the programme “Let’s Help Them to Hear!”, we provide the very latest hearing aids to children with impaired hearing, whose parents cannot afford to buy them. Thanks to your activity during last year’s campaign, this year we have been able to help 43 children. By way of comparison — a total of 53 children have received hearing aids presented by us in all the previous years in which our programme has been in operation. Every year, about 110 additional Latvian children need such apparatus. It costs approximately EUR 2,000 to help one child in this regard.
Within the parameters of the programme “Let’s Help Them to Grow Up!”, we organise summer camps for children from impoverished families. Last summer, 704 children from all over Latvia relaxed at our camps, made new friends and improved their lot in life.
On behalf of all of these children and their parents, we would like to thank those whose efforts help to make these children’s lives better, and remind you that with the support of ABLV Bank, the Foundation doubles the sums donated in the programmes.
In addition to its programmes to date, the ABLV Charitable Foundation has just founded a new programme “Let’s Help the Victims of 21.11.”. The goal of the programme is to offer long-term help to children, whose parents died or were seriously injured in the tragedy that occurred on 21 November in Zolitūde, Rīga. This event shook us, just like countless other people in Latvia and overseas, to the very depths of our hearts, when 54 people lost their lives due to the collapse of roof at the “Maxima” shopping centre, and many others suffered injuries of various natures and varying degrees of severity. ABLV Bank has made the first donation to the programme in the amount of LVL 50,000 (EUR 71,100).
