On Friday, 13 December, an agreement was signed between ABLV Charitable Foundation and the Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation for a donation of LVL 50,000 to the programme “Let’s Help the Victims of 21.11.”.

Parallel to long-standing ABLV Charitable Foundation programmes such as “Let’s Help Them to Hear!” and “Let’s Help Them to Grow Up!”, the programme “Let’s Help the Victims of 21.11.” was set up in order to provide long-term support to the victims of the Zolitūde tragedy, particularly children from families, in which one or both parents died or were seriously injured. Nevertheless, within the parameters of this programme, the Foundation will also individually consider other applications for support. Decisions regarding the provision of support will be made, carefully assessing applications and collaborating with the responsible state and municipal institutions.

As the Foundation’s Board Chair Zanda Zilgalve stresses: “While all assistance is important, after initially very high activity on the part of donors, this activity invariably diminishes over time. In turn, the victim families will require support for many years, for example, so that children from these families are able to get a proper education.”
The first donation to the programme “Let’s Help the Victims of 21.11.” was made by ABLV Bank in the amount of LVL 50,000. As of now, in addition to the donation from the Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation, EUR 120,000 has been donated to the programme.

On behalf of ABLV Charitable Foundation, the agreement was signed by Board Chair Zanda Zilgalve and Board Member Oļegs Fiļs, and on behalf of the donor: by Ināra Teterev.

ABLV Charitable Foundation was founded in 2006 by ABLV Bank shareholders Ernests Bernis and Oļegs Fiļs, in order to put their core values into practice in real life and support the responsibility of entrepreneurs towards society and the environment. The Foundation functions as ABLV Bank’s main partner in realm of charitable activity, supporting creative people and outstanding organisations that invest their efforts and knowledge, in order to achieve universally important goals – to create a united, abundant and safe society. In particular, the Foundation focuses its attention on contemporary art, children and adolescents, and the development of education and civic society. In past years, the Foundation has supported more than 200 projects, awarding financing to them in the amount of EUR 1,000,000.
